A family run creative haven
Hi everyone, we’re Maria and Marcus, and we’d love to welcome you to Rock Meadow—our home in the foothills of the Black Mountains, in rural Herefordshire. We’re a storyteller and a yoga instructor, and parents to two wild-hearted girls, Freyja and Harmony.
Rock Meadow is a space to slow down and reconnect—whether through stories, yoga, growing food, or simply being in nature. You might join one of our storytelling workshops, stretch out in a yoga class, lend a hand in our organic no-dig veg garden, or wander through the 10-acre rewilding project, where the land is slowly returning to wild.
Stay in our cosy writer’s cabin or traditional bow-top caravan, dip your feet in the brook, watch red kites wheel overhead, and dream up new ways of being. Whether you come to learn, rest, help out, or simply breathe more deeply—there’s something here for everyone.
COMING UP:
Join us at Rock Meadow on Saturday 20th September, for a joyful day of stories, community, and connection — featuring the internationally acclaimed storyteller Jan Blake, whose rhythmic, passionate tales from African and Caribbean traditions have captivated audiences around the world.
Jan is one of the most powerful voices in contemporary storytelling, known for her dynamic presence and deep wisdom. She currently stars on the BBC’s Musical Storyland alongside the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra and recently lit up the stage at this year’s Hay Festival. It’s a real honour to welcome her to Rock Meadow. If you aren’t familiar with her work check out this incredible story from her TedTalk here, then I challenge you not to book!
